Nintendo has announced that the Wii MotionPlus accessory will hit shop shelves in the UK and Europe on 12 June, a few days after the States sees it released on the 8th.

The title to showcase the Wiimote add-ons, Wii Sports Resort, the beach-themed sequel to Wii Sports, won't be available until 24 July.

Each Wii Sports Resort game will come bundled with a single Wii MotionPlus accessory - pricing has not yet been confirmed for either the accessory or the game.

Nintendo claims the Wii MotionPlus "tracks players' movements in finer detail and with greater accuracy than ever before", boasting: "even the slightest twist of the wrist or turn of the body is replicated exactly on the TV screen".

Nintendo has also confirmed that the Wii MotionPlus accessory will also be compatible with SEGA's Virtua Tennis 2009 as well as Grand Slam Tennis and Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 from EA.
