Electronic Arts is offering Dead Space for PC complete free for a limited time as part of its "On the House" promotion.

And it will be changing which PC games it will give away on a regular basis, in similar fashion to Xbox Live's Games with Gold scheme or PlayStation Plus, but without the subscription fees.

"There's no catch," says EA on the dedicated "On the House" webpage. "Grab full games, expansions and more at absolutely no cost. Just make sure to act fast because On the House specials can appear and disappear at any time."

The game will be "yours to keep" and not a timed version or demo. The Origin team also state that the company is doing this because, "We're gamers too." You will need an Origin account to claim your free game.

Survival horror game Dead Space was originally released to much acclaim in 2008 and has since had two sequels of varying quality. The other games are now available on Origin for £9.99 apiece.
