FIFA 12 has landed on Android at last. Well, on one Android device, at least - the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play.

The latest big catch for the PlayStation phone is available until the new year, exclusively on the Gingerbread device, and won't cost a penny. Apart from Papa Bouba Dioup, this has to be the football free transfer of the year.

Owners of other Xperia handsets, such as the Arc, Ray, Neo and Pro will also be able to get the game too - but won't be able to tap into, literally, the advanced game controls that the Play's PlayStation buttons allows for.

"This year, we’ve partnered with EA to bring some of its best titles to Xperi Play for an unmatched mobile gaming experience," said Tim Harrison, head of content and strategy at Sony Ericsson.

"FIFA is a huge franchise that appeals to football fans around the world and a real highlight in a successful autumn and Holiday season of bringing great content to Xperia Play."

To get FIFA 12 for free, simply fire up the game widget and download it. Dead Space, Battlefield Bad Company 2, Need for Speed Shift and Hot Pursuit are also all available gratis.
