It seems like we may just be able to look forward to a Rock Band 2 UK release "this side of Christmas".
At least that's what one of EA's external PR agencies let slip in an email surrounding the game, although EA itself has refused to confirm anything.
Turning to the publisher for an official statement was fruitless, but it certainly seems that the date went out by mistake and may not be final - either way it seems the company had certainly wanted to keep it under wraps for now.
"MTV, Harmonix and EA have not formally confirmed a UK release date for Rock Band 2," has been the most EA have murmered about the PR's little slip up.
Funnily enough, no doubt after a rather strongly worded phone call from their client, the PR agency followed up its original email saying: "The release date in Europe is still to be confirmed. We expect to be able to announce release shortly." Again.
This isn't the first time we've heard the game would reach us before Christmas. A recent TV advert claimed the game would be released in the UK in November, so perhaps the PR's claims may have a bit of truth behind them.
Rock Band 2 has already been released in the US on Xbox 360 and PS3, and so far has seen good reviews. Here's hoping for an official release announcement soon.
