Not that this is a shocker by any means, but Activision has announced that it has yet another Call of Duty title slated for 2013. A new version of Call of Duty has been released every year since 2005.

On its quarterly earnings call, Activision CFO Dennis Durkin said: "The Call of Duty franchise continues to set the bar for innovation, and we expect the new Call of Duty game in development for 2013 to raise that bar even higher."

The company didn't release any details about what time period the game will fall under, what consoles will be included, or when it will be released. Two things are for sure: plenty of action and an addictive multi-player mode.

Activision's most recent title, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, yielded huge results for the company. The game grossed $1bn in just 15 days, a day faster than Modern Warfare 3. Activision also saw record profits in 2012.

With the launch of new consoles this year, we expect the new Call of Duty game to play an integral part. Expect plenty more leading up to E3 this summer.
