Ouya just rolled out the Abominable Snowman.

The makers of Ouya, the Android-based gaming console that got a boost on Kickstarter, have been teasing an interface upgrade in recent weeks.

That upgrade is now finally available, and it's called the Abominable Snowman. Ouya's said it is the console's biggest update yet, and it will largely overhaul the system's visual experience.

The UI changes allow Ouya to better feature your games: titles are now underneath the tile art, tiles have new icons for installed games or games with updates, and controller icons now appear for all connected controllers and have a low battery indication.

There are also some under-the-hood improvements. For instance, Ouya added beta support for USB storage, the ability to queue downloads from the web, faster access to the system menu with a double tap, etc.

Abominable Snowman will arrive for consoles at some point today. If you want to view the update notes, they appear after the update. You can also go to Manage and then Update Notes to view them.
