Transport Tycoon, a gaming classic originally developed by Chris Sawyer and published by MicroProse in 1994, will re-launch as a "revitalised version" for iOS and Android in late 2013.

The new simulation game will allow mobile players to forge motorised transport routes and grow their own empires by utilising over 150 vehicles like steam trains and supersonic aircraft of the modern era.

Although optimised for touch-screen devices, the title will allegedly retain many of the original gameplay elements. In fact, Sawyer has designed and directed Transport Tycoon for mobile with help from developers Origin8.

The duo "recreated and restored" the original simulation code to make the "deepest, richest simulation game yet" on mobile. Transport Tycoon's all-new user interface will notably allow mobile players to explore and interact through more than 40 scenarios geared toward all skill levels and playing styles.
