Angry Birds fans rejoice as it has been confirmed, by Rovio’s North American general manager, Andrew Stalbow, that Angry Birds will be receiving a new bird this Halloween.

Stalbow made the announcement on stage at the Web 2.0 conference, whilst also giving a  rundown of some Rovio stats since the game's launch. They were impressive to say the least.

So how do they look? Well, Rovio is now boasting a cool 30 million daily users which culminates into 130 million monthly users, and 300 million minutes of gaming each day. This, in no small way, can be attributed to the massive 400 million downloads the Angry Birds series has  had since launch. The plans for a Angry Birds movie will no doubt help those swelling coffers.

What's even more impressive is that these remarkable sales have been achieved with absolutely no marketing budget. That's right, Rovio's marketing budgget for the Angry Birds franchise stands at a nice round zero - or rather 0.

However, the news we know you're all really interested in is the introduction of a new bird to the lineup - and we have to admit at the moment details are scarce.

What we do know is that a shot was leaked onto Rovio's Facebook page showing part of a yellow, rotund-looking specimen - though there was no giveaway as to its method of attack. We're not at all sure which part of the bird the leaked section refers to - perhaps its backside, an ear... who knows.

Using some advanced computer imagery mapping tech, Pocket-lint has produced a mockup of what the new bird will look like (see above) - This, we believe, is around 98.7 per cent accurate.
