Sony has finally announced the launch of Arsenal TV Matchday + for the PSP platform, first reported on by Pocket-lint in 2007 and then talked up again back in January 2009.

The new service will be available for download via in the coming weeks, from which time matchday fans at the Emirates Stadium will be able to access the video stream during Barclays Premier League games.

"Ever been to a football match and missed a crucial save or goal? Wished you’d been able to see a goal from a different angle? Had your view obscured by the person sitting in front of you?" asks Sony with the solution, for the rest of this season, a crisp tenner away.

The "enhanced live experience" will see match content streamed direct to fans’ PSPs and PSP Gos at their seats offering action replays, slow-mo option, live match stats, team sheets and player profiles, pre-match video and scores from other fixtures.

Sony is claiming the experience is "even more immersive" than just being at the live game. Access to games being played in the 2010/2011 season will go on sale during the close season.
