Sony has announced a new range of GPS units that it is calling a Personal Navigation Devices.
The first model out of the gates is the NVX-P1, an in-car plug-and-play device that sports a 2Gb hard disc drive and comes pre-loaded with maps for 21 countries in Western Europe.
It features a large, 3.8in (9.5cm) LCD display, a 3D map view and a smart re-routing engine, an intuitive Graphical User Interface (GUI), and multiple viewing modes.
It comes with an easy-fit cradle and cigarette lighter power socket enabling quick transfers from one vehicle to another.
In addition to this, voice guidance is available via a built-in speaker, in eight languages, including English, German, Dutch, Italian, Spanish, French, Swedish and Danish.
The NVX-P1 will be available from August priced around £550.
