Samsung has announced three new MP3 players in the UK; the Samsung P2, the Samsung VP-S5 and the Samsung YP-T10.

Two of the new models built on previous outings from the electronics giant as it continues to offer an alternative to Apple's iPod and Creative's Zen range.

Based on the Samsung YP-K5, the new YP-S5 is a slimmer, thinner version of the MP3 player with built in speaker.

The model, which will come in 2GB, 4GB and 8GB models in either black or white will feature a 1.8-inch colour screen and have a similar interface to the K5 launched last year.

The model, which offers 24 hours of music and 5.5 hours of video from one charge will be Bluetooth 1.2 compatible and feature a FM radio.

Weighing 85 grams, the new model is expected to be available in the UK in time for Christmas.

The company has also launched an update to its YP-T9b player also launched last year.

The new player will come in 2GB, 4GB and 8GB versions, in a range of colours including Midnight Black, Mystic Purple, Maple Red, Lime Yellow and White Cloud.

It will feature a 2-inch colour LCD display, offer 30 hours of music and 4 hours of movie from a single charge as well as being Bluetooth 2.0 compatible.

The interface has also been given an overhaul. Instead of boring menus users will be presented with a cartoon dog to guide you through the menu choices.

It weighs an even lighter 43 grams.

No word on pricing as yet, however Samsung say both will be available in the UK by the end of the year.
