Garmin has today launched the nüvi 200W and the nüvi 250W – two new widescreen GPS navigators that claim to be the most compact and lightweight sat navs available with a 4.3-inch screen.

The slimline design means they are easy to mount in a car or transfer between vehicles.

The nüvi 200W includes preloaded detailed mapping of the UK and Ireland and the nüvi 250W has preloaded detailed mapping of Europe, covering 32 countries throughout Western and Eastern Europe.

The nüvi 200W series boasts a bright, sunlight readable extra-wide 4.3-inch colour touchscreen display.

The nüvi 200W and nüvi 250W are designed to be easy to use. When you turn one on you are presented with a simple “where to?” and “view map” welcome screen, allowing for quick searches of addresses or hundreds of thousands of points of interest such as restaurants, hotels, petrol stations, and more.

Turn-by-turn, voice-prompted directions guide you to your destination. There is also a unique built-in “Help” function - just press the question mark at any time if you need advice on how to find a destination or look up a place of interest.

For additional security, Garmin has included the Garmin Lock, a patent pending theft prevention system that disables the unit until the user types in a specific 4-digit PIN or takes the unit to a predetermined secure location.

Both versions include a vehicle suction cup mount, vehicle power cable, dashboard disk, and owner’s reference manual. Additional mapping available at extra cost.

The nüvi 200W and nüvi 250W are expected to be available in July 2007 at a suggested retail price £199.99 and £249.99 respectively. For more info, follow the link below.
