Belkin has announced a 2-to-1 video switching device for HDMI users running out of sockets on the back of their televisions.

The new device simply called the Belkin HDMI 2-to-1 Video Switch Connects promises to link two HD devices, such as your HD DVD player and your video-game console, to your HD TV through a single HDMI or DVI connection.

The box then lets you switch between the two sources allowing to, according to Belkin, to "easily toggle" between two HDMI devices via the included remote control.

It supports 480i, 480p, 720i, 720p, 1080i, and 1080p resolutions on your HDTV.

The device is powered by HDMI cable connection to HDTV.

The unit will be available in Europe, Asia and Australia in March next year. Those who can't wait can hop over to the US or Canada and pick one up before Christmas for $49.99.
