Belkin's FM stereo transmitter has finally been approved by the EU.

The TuneCast II connects portable music players to a radio using FM radio transmission via the 3.5mm headphone jack.

Belkin says it took 18 months of work with the European agency responsible for regulating it to win approval to European standards.

However, the UK standards are not the same as the European ones, and therefore TuneCast cannot be used in the British Isles.

If you're going to Germany, Switzerland, Denmark, and Iceland, you're in luck because it's perfectly legal to listen to your music with the device.

It scans all FM frequencies so that users can choose the best frequencies, and feautures an Auto ON/OFF function that power on when a signal is detected.

Belkin's TuneCast II is available for £29.99.
