With internet tablets the buzz word at the moment, thanks to the Apple iPad and the HP Slate, Amazon looks to be getting a tad worried that Kindle owners might jump ship for a better browsing experience.

All that could be about to change, however, if a job listing on the company's website is anything to go by.

According to the listing, uncovered by webmonkey.com, the company is looking for a browser engineer at Lab126, the division of Amazon that develops the Kindle. In the listing it asks for somebody to help develop "an innovative embedded web browser for a consumer product".

The new role includes designing and implementing new features on the browser as well as maintaining the implementations of the current browser.

Are you a Kindle user? Would you consider staying if the device had a better browser? Let us know in the comments below.
