New SanDisk memory card readers to launch in November
SanDisk is to launch two new memory card readers that promise to let you stream data to your images faster than before.
Although not officially announcing the new products until November, Pocket-lint has learnt that the new models; called the SanDisk ImageMate All-In-One and SanDisk Mutlicard Reader will promise to transfer 1GB of data from your memory card in less than 35 seconds.
Although final transfer speeds will be dependent on the memory card you use, SanDisk say that users of its Extreme IV Compact flash card will be able to transfer 34MBps. Users of its Extreme III range will get around 30MBps read and 27MBps write speeds.
As well as allowing users to drag and drop content from the cards to the computer the devices will feature a transfer button that can be set to automatically launch a user-defined applications or website like flickr.com.
The ImageMate All-In-One reader will be able to read SD, SDHC, miniSDHC, microSDHC, MMC, Memory Stick, Memory Stick Pro Duo, xD and CompactFlash.
The ImageMate Multi-Card reader will support xD, Memory Stick, SD, SDHC and MMC.
The new models are expected to be announced in November at cost £14.99 and £24.99 respectively.
