Not to be outdone by Navman's new S-Series range, ViaMichelin has launched its New Edition ViaMichelin Navigation range.
The whole range now sports the new ViaMichelin V.7 software that offers "numerous" enhancements including tweaks to the UI and improved performance for navigation, driving safety, comfort and "driving pleasure", apparently.
There's new info about battery level, speed and travel times while the points of interest categories have been revamped.
With serious potential to annoy, there's a ton of new safety alerts for nervous Nellies including a Dangerous Bend Alert, School Zone Alerts, Roadworks Alert, Authorised Overtaking Area Alert and a Tiredness Alert.
More info coming via your ViaMichelin unit will now include weather forecasts updated twice daily, road toll charge info and safety camera updates and the top two models in the range get RDS-TMC traffic info.
The new range gives you free info from the Michelin Green and Red Guides that includes a growing collection of over 9,000 tourist photos available to download for five countries (Germany, Spain, France, Italy, United Kingdom) as well as free downloads of suggested European sightseeing routes.
The new devices, all complete with MP3 abilities, now include the following models: ViaMichelin Navigation X-960 UK: £139, £189 for Europe. ViaMichelin Navigation X-970 UK: £169, £199 with TMC, £259 for Europe with TMC and ViaMichelin Navigation X-980T Europe: £279.
