Shinco, the portable DVD manufacture, has teamed up with online gadget shop Firebox.com to launch a portable car navigation system in the UK.

The new Shinco GM400 Voyager promises to steer away from the traditional black unit format offering instead an attractive creamy white fascia no bigger than an Apple iPod, which can be used in or out of your vehicle allowing for maximum versatility.

Providing more than just the standard features, Shinco believes the entry-level Voyager will wow even the most sceptical consumer.

As well as a choice of two- and three-dimensional maps the Voyager also includes a wide 4-inch LCD touch screen with stylus, over 2 million points of interests, integrated MP3 capability, UK maps as standard with options to buy additional mapping for USA, Asia and Europe. as well as the ability to navigate via postcode and stored favourites.

The unit, priced £229.95, comes with a handy carry case, suction mount, cigarette lighter adaptor and rechargeable battery. An additional GPS antenna booster is also provided.
