The trouble with most USB flash drives is that you never really know how much data you've got stored on them and therefore how much free space there is before you connect it to the computer.

One company is hoping to change all this with the creation of the Flashbag, a USB memory drive that expands as more and more data is stored on it.

According to the company “When the device is about to blow up you will see the familiar error message on your screen: 'There is not enough free space'".

When switched off the flashbag remains pumped up, so you can estimate with the naked eye how many more pics, books and music albums can be transferred into it.

Unfortunately before you reach for your credit card, the Flashbag is currently only in a design concept at present. However the author is inviting producing and production companies to get involved in the project.
