A UK company called Eupac, based in London, is optimistic for a new media player that will allow you to play music, movies and view photos on the go as well as doubling up as a GPS unit if you buy a bolt on accessory.

The mPack P600 features a 4-inch wide, 480x272 high resolution colour LCD screen an internal 20GB hard drive, which can hold up to 20,000 photos, 10,000 songs, and 67 hours of video in a device that measures 120x94.5x27mm and weighs 290g.

The device supports 3D sound and Dolby Digital surround sound and has two 4W stereo speakers to provide sound.

Similar to its sister product, mPack P800, the mPack P600 supports multiple video, audio and image files. For video files the mPack P600 supports MPEG1/2/4, AVI (XviD), MPG/DAT/VOB/MOD without converting, and ASF/WMV-with the support of converting software. As for audio files, it plays MP3 CBR/VBR, WMA, OGG, AC3, WAV, and MA4 files. For images, the mPack P600 supports JPEG/GIF/BMP/PNG & various DSC raw image file formats. Additionally this devices supports text files such as Plain Text Viewer.

The P600 also offers a PDA functionality, including features such as address book, calculator, text reader and clock as well as be able to run Java games.

The unit has a playtime of 4 hours video and 7 hours of audio time.

The mPack600 range will be available at major online retailers and high street shops by the end of Nov, 2005. Prices start from £339.
