Sharp has strengthened its digital radio offering with the launch of a three new products at IFA 2005 in Berlin, Germany. The new models include a portable DAB player and two micro-systems.

The catchy named FV-DB2ES will offer a DAB tuner for Band III and L-Band frequencies alongside traditional FM radio in a unit that measures 320x135x100mm.

The radio will store up to 20 radio stations and offer “Time Shift” functionality that will allow users to pause and rewind up to 16 minutes of radio.

Sharp also announced two Micro systems called the XL-MP9H and the XL-DAB9H. The XL-DAB9H will also offer “Time Shifting” capabilities up to 16 minutes.

Both players will offer a slot-in CD loader to play CD, CD-R/RW, MP3-CD and WMA-CD formats. The CD player will also have a programmable memory for a selection of up to 32 songs.

The new portable radio will cost €229 and is available now, while the micro systems will cost €149 and €279 respectively.
