More cases for the supposed iPod nano touch have surfaced online, intensifying the rumours that the chap in the black turtle-neck will be announcing the new device at Apple's special event on 1 September.

There has also been a number of mock-ups appearing on line, along with size dimensions.

Now, if you cast your minds back to the beginning of July, you might remember that we brought you leaked pictures of a 3 x 3cm Apple branded touchscreen component that looks as if it would fit the supposed device nicely.

Coincidence? We doubt it.

Our guess at Pocket-lint though, is that this square-shaped device isn't a nano touch at all - but an iPod Shuffle touch.

We can see this device being bundled with a bumper-style wristband - thus turning the iPod into a wristwatch and taking apps like Nike+ to the next level.

Obviously all will be revealed over in California in the coming days, so we'll just have to wait and see if our prediction rings true.

What do you guys think? Is a new nano on the horizon - or is it a Shuffle or new device entirely? Give us your thoughts using the comments below.
