Sony has announced a couple of smartphones to its Xperia range including the flagship Xperia 1 IV and the mid-range Xperia 10 IV.

While the Xperia 1 IV makes some moves in the camera department, the Xperia 10 IV concentrates on laying claim to being super light with 5G connectivity and a large battery.

Weighing in at just 161g - which is marginally heavier than the Apple iPhone SE (2022) and iPhone 13 mini - the Xperia 10 1V runs on the Snapdragon 695 5G platform and is supported by 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.

Like the flagship sibling, the Xperia 10 IV features a 3.5mm headphone jack and it offers storage expansion through microSD. There is a triple rear camera with optical image stabilisation and features including super resolution zoom, low light improvements and night mode improvements.

On the front, there's an 8-megapixel front camera that has a feature to sharpen selfies using artificial intelligence. The camera sits within a bezel at the top of a 6-inch 21:9 aspect ratio OLED display, which offers increased brightness over the Xperia 10 III

Other specifications include a 5000mAh battery, IP65 and IP68 water and dust resistance and protection from Corning Gorilla Glass Victus.

The Sony Xperia 10 IV will be available in Black, White, Mint and Lavender colour options. Pricing has yet to be announced but preorders are due to start on 11 May, with delivery in the next few weeks.
