Ever hear about the Sony Xperia 1? Neither have we, and yet, a prolific leaker has just shared some images of this upcoming phone.

Evan Blass posted shots of a so-called Sony Xperia 1 device to Twitter, revealing nothing else about the phone. Now, to be clear, we have seen this phone before. In the past, it's been referred to as the Xperia XZ4. So, does this mean Sony plans to rebrand its flagship range?  It's hard to say, with such little information to go on, but Blass is very credible and has a decent track record.

Beyond the new name, the other noteworthy aspects about this leak is that we have yet to see this purple shade or even the side of the phone. Now, we can see it has a four-button setup. There's a power button that is separate from its fingerprint scanner, a volume rocker, and a shutter release. This power button could also be a dedicated Google Assistant button, according to some.

In terms of what the phone features, again, Blass revealed nothing, but past reports point to Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 855 chipset, 6GB of RAM, 128GB of internal storage, and a 4,400mAh capacity battery. For more rumours and leaks on this phone, see Pocket-lint's guide here.
