After months of speculation on "will they, won't they" Asus has confirmed that its Republic of Gamers Phone will be coming to the UK. And it will be released next month.

We first saw the gaming-centric Asus ROG Phone at Computex in Taiwan in June, but it was not known if it would ever make it to the UK. In fact, Pocket-lint had heard that a British release was unlikely.

Now though we have received an invite to a dedicated UK launch event in London on 15 November, not only confirming the handset's availability over here, but also hinting that it will be on sale sooner rather than later.

We were extremely impressed by the ROG Phone at Computex which, we feel, takes mobile gaming to an all-new level.

Its nearest rival is the Razer Phone (and its replacement) but many other manufacturers are now touting their own handsets aimed at the gaming market too.

Where they cannot compare is in experience. Asus makes some of the best gaming laptops out there and the ROG Phone benefits from much of that DNA. It's not just a phone good at gaming, it has been designed from the ground up for the purpose.

It even has its own vapour-chamber cooling system on board.

We're yet to find out the actual release date and pricing, but previous rumours have put the latter around the £900 mark.
