Gamescom is Germany's biggest annual videogames convention and it returns as an in-person show this year. That included the Opening Night Live presentation that kicked off the event on Tuesday.

It had actual fans in attendance and a tonne of games announced or shown on stage.

Here's what was announced and how to watch it again.

What was announced?

We're updating the line-up of games appearing at ONL as they are announced, check back often. We'll be adding trailers when available too.

Everywhere

Everywhere is an interesting game from Build a Rocket Boy that looks to be a metaverse style project - a massive open-world muliplayer online game where you can drive, fight, even just hang out with your firends.

It's due for release in 2023.

Dune Awakening

From Level Infinite and Funcom, Dune Awakening is an open world survival MMO set in the world of the books and movies.

PS5 DualSense Edge Controller

As rumoured, Sony is bringing a new, pro-gamer DualSense Controller to market, called the DualSense Edge.

The Callisto Protocol

Shown a couple of times already, The Callisto Protocol is looking really good - the Dead Space sequel in all but name. It'll release on 2 December 2022.

The Lords of the Fallen

Only a CGI trailer for now, but the sequel to Souls-alike Lords of the Fallen looks pretty neat.

Moving Out 2

We have to admit, we love a spot of Moving Out so are hugely stoked that there's a sequel on its way. It'll be available next year.

Hogwarts Legacy

It may have been delayed but the wait coud well be worth - that extra polish will undoubtedly make a difference. Pre-orders are open from 25 August 2022.

New Tales from the Borderlands

A sequel to the Telltale original adventure series is long overdue. Thankfully we don't have to wait too much longer, it'll be available from October.

Dying Light 2: Stay Human - Bloody Ties

The first major DLC for DL2 looks pretty insane.

Tortuga: A Pirate's Tale

Not much on this one yet, just a brief teaser.

Marauders

This'll enter early access in October.

Destiny 2: Lightfall

A new Destiny 2 chapter starts.

Sonic Frontiers

ONL debuted a brand new trailer of the controversal forthcoming Sonic game. It was also announced to be coming on 8 November 2022.

Under the Waves

Quantic Dream will be back in 2023 with Under the Waves.

Goat Simulator 3

Prepare yourself for so much new lunacy there wasn't even a Goat Simulator 2. It's coming on 17 November 2022.

Return to Monkey Island

The long-awaited adventure sequel will be available from 19 September - which just so happens to be talk like a pirate day.

Moonbreaker

The developer of Subnautica, Unknown Worlds, has been working with author Brandon Sanderson on Moonbreaker, a cool-looking turn based strategy RPG. You can even paint your own virtual miniatures.

It enters early access on 29 September 2022.

Friends vs. Friends

If nonthing else, Friends vs. Friends wins the catchiest trailer tune of Gamescom.

Lies of P

Based on the story of Pinocchio, Lies of P is a third-person action-adventure with a great steampunk art style.

Stranded: Alien Dawn

Space exploration game Stranded: Alien Dawn will be available in early access soon.

Atlas Fallen World

This looks like a interesting third-person action game. Not sure what it's really about yet.

Homeworld 3

The space RTS series is finally back with a new sequel. It's coming in 2023.

Genshin Impact

The 3.0 update is coming soon, oh yes!

Honkai Star Rail

We got a further look at the new action-RPG from the studio behind Genshin Impact.

High on Life

We got just a brief clip of gameplay from Squanch Games cool-looking, very sweary shooter.

Hardspace: Shipbreaker

PC space salvaging sim, Hardspace: Shipbreaker, is finally coming to Xbox and PlayStation next month.

The Expanse: A Telltale Series

Based on the Amazon Prime Video sci-fi TV series, this adventure will expand on the show for all the fans.

Killer Klowns from Outer Space: The Game

Coming from the director of Friday the 13th: The Game comes this adaptation of one of the most bonkers movies of all time. Nice.

Scars Above

This third-person survival horror looks interesting from the Gamescom trailer.

Wyrdsong

Developed by industry veterans behins the likes of the Fallout series, Wyrdsong is an all-new RPG IP.

Age of Empires 4

The Malians and the Ottomans are joining the game for free from 25 October.

Gotham Knights

A new trailer not only shows several of the villains for the first time, it reveals that the release date has been brought forward. It'll now be available from 21 October.

Where Winds Meet

Looking a little Ghost of Tsushima, Where Winds Meet is a new action-adventure that looks like one to watch for sure.

Park Beyond

A new rollercoaster/theme park strategy game is coming next year.

Warhammer 40,000: Darktide

New footage of the forthcoming Doom-alike was shown during ONL.

Blacktail

This first-person witch-em-up looks pretty decent.

Phantom Hellcat

Not an awful lot of detail on Phantom Hellcat for now.

Dorf Romantik

Cute and for Nintendo Switch - what more do you want?

The Outlast Trials

Pretty disturbing but certainly intriguing, the closed beta for the Outlast Trials will take place from 28 October to 1 November.

Dead Island 2

Finally... finally!!!!! And it's coming 3 February 2023.
