Jawbone has launched new music service called Drop, or actually, it is an app that's integrated with music services.

Drop lets you play music from Spotify and Rdio. The unique part about this app however is that it pulls in song requests through Twitter. Let's say you're at a party, for instance, friends can create and manage playlists by sending (or "dropping") tweets to a specific username.

"Whether you're hosting a party or listening solo, Drop by Jawbone plays the right music for you with just one touch," explained Jawbone via the app's description. "Friends can seamlessly add new tracks to the mix by sending you a tweet with the name of the song they want to play."

Your friends must mention you in the tweet, with the word "drop" and the name of a song or artist. They don't need to download the app, but the person playing music needs to download Drop, essentially making that person a DJ of sorts.

Announced at Twitter’s Flight developer conference, Drop’s website is now live and includes a download link for the iOS app. Jawbone said songs are pulled from Spotify or Rdio, so you'll need a premium or paid subscription to either of those music services in order to use Drop.

There's no word yet on whether an Android version is coming.
