When Microsoft first announced the Xbox Series X, memes about the console looking like a refrigerator were instantly born on the internet. However, what started out as a joke soon became reality, with the company making a handful of actual mini fridges for marketing purposes.

Now, thanks to huge demand, it has announced that a consumer edition is coming too.

In a tongue-in-cheek trailer reveal during its E3 2021 games showcase (above), Xbox unveiled the Xbox Mini Fridge that will be on sale this coming holiday season.

Previously, Xbox marketing chief, Aaron Greenberg, confirmed that Xbox was to make the Mini Fridge for real because it had defeated Skittles in a brand contest. As it won a vote between the two campaigns, with a score of 50.5 per cent, it would make its "stunt" fridges for public sale. It is staying true to its word: "We will move forward on our promise to make those Xbox Mini Fridges," he tweeted.

We don't yet know how much it will cost or which regions will be able to buy the Xbox Series X-inspired cooler. But it must be said that it looks pretty cool. Pun entirely intended.
