If you've got an Xbox One S or Xbox One X, but don't have an Xbox Live Gold subscription then you are missing out on a lot.

Not only do you get a whole load of multiplayer gaming bonuses, an Xbox Live Gold subscription gives you free games to download and keep each month.

There's one word of warning though, Microsoft has announced that it is raising subscription prices in the UK to "ensure gamers have consistent pricing for Xbox Live Gold across Europe". That means a year's worth of Xbox Live Gold will set you back £49.99 (previously £39.99), a three-month pass will be £17.99 (was £14.99), and monthly membership will cost £6.99 rather than £5.99.

Only the six-month subscription fee will stay the same, at £29.99.

There's one way to beat the hike, however. You can nab a great deal on Xbox Live Gold before it comes into effect.

For example, you can grab three-months of Xbox Live Gold for just £7.79 from CDKeys. It has other long term deals too.

The new prices will come into effect for new subscribers on 8 May 2019, while existing subscribers will see their prices rise on 7 August, so make sure you top-up your account beforehand.

Considering Xbox Live Gold is essential to play games online, gives you big discounts on games on the Xbox Store and offers free titles each month, it's definitely worth getting in there now to avoid any extra outlay later.
