Leaked and rumoured for a while, the Logitech G Cloud Gaming Handheld is finally here.

As you've probably gathered from the name, this is a handheld console that's specifically built for cloud gaming. It was crafted by Logitech, in partnership with Tencent, but the company has also worked with both Xbox and Nvidia on the device.

That's because the Cloud Gaming Handheld is designed to work with Xbox Cloud Gaming and Nvidia GeForce Now to give you access to games you love, anywhere in your home.

This is a thin, portable and lightweight gaming console that sheds the weight necessary to power something like the Steam Deck in favour of running games via the cloud instead. This means you get more play time - as much as 12 hours - and still have a superb gaming experience with thousands of games accessible in an instant via the cloud.

There's more though, as the Logitech G Cloud Gaming Handheld is also an Android device running Android 11. So you have access to the Google Play store and the ability to play Android games too, if you so wish.

With Steam Link pre-installed, gamers can also stream games from their gaming PC directly to the handheld. Taking advantage of their own game collections and the freedom the console has to offer.

Logitech's handheld offers both 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi connections, so as long as you have a fast and strong home Wi-Fi network, you should have a great time with it.

It is primarily designed for gaming at home though, as there's no 5G connection on offer here for cloud gaming while out and about.

From what we've seen from our hands-on time, this is going to be an interesting handheld worth keeping an eye on. It sports a 7-inch, 1080p screen with 60Hz refresh rate, 450nits brightness and a multi-touch panel.

It's light too, weighing just 463 grams and feels good in the hand, with comfortable controls and a responsive design. Some might question the older Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G processor, but since the cloud is doing most of the work, the experience should be a good one.

The Logitech G CLOUD Gaming Handheld is going to be available in the United States first, shipping on 17 October 2022. You'll be able to pre-order it now for the lower price of $299.99 or it will retail for $349.99 when fully launched. There's no word on when it might come to other regions.
