As well as a sequel to the much loved console platform games, we will soon be able to take Crash Bandicoot for a spin on our iOS or Android devices.

After a significant leak in February, it has now been confirmed that Crash Bandicoot: On the Run is heading to app stores soon.

Developer King has released a trailer (which you can see below) and you can pre-register for the game by visiting the dedicated webpage and entering your email address (for iOS), or heading to Google Play here (for Android).

It's actually already released in some countries, as part of a soft launch earlier this year, but a wider roll out is imminent.

"We're really excited to bring this well-known and much-loved franchise back to mobile," said Kind's vice president of game design, Stephen Jarrett.

"Our ambition is to transform the runner experience with classic Crash gameplay, while adding depth and progression through a variety of exciting features including meaningful social, crafting and base building."

As he alluded, the game sits in the runner genre, with Crash and characters automatically sprinting up the screen while you ensure he doesn't hit traps or other pitfalls.

All players who pre-register before launch will get an exclusive Blue Hyena Skin as an in-game bonus.

Crash Bandicoot: On the Run will be free-to-play and we'll update with an exact release date as soon as we find out more.
