We've now had our hands on the PlayStation 5 for three years and change, so it's safe to say that the PS4 is no longer a spring chicken - it's an old console by most standards, but that doesn't mean it's finished.

There are still new games coming to PS4 all the time, including some really major releases, so we've gathered the most exciting ones coming down the line for you right here, with all the details you should know about each.

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown

  • Pre-order: Amazon
  • Release date: 15 January 2024
  • Xbox One exclusive? No, also on Xbox, PlayStation 5 and PC
  • Publisher: Ubisoft

We can't wait to jump into this platformer, the return of a seriously beloved and undernourished franchise, and it looks like The Lost Crown will take Prince of Persia back to its 2D roots.

This will be a retro-inspired but thoroughly modern-looking platformer that lets you explore a vibrant map and overcome a bunch of interesting and challenging combat encounters as you unfold a new story.

Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth

  • Pre-order: Amazon
  • Release date: 26 January 2024
  • Xbox One exclusive? No, also on Xbox, PlayStation 5 and PC
  • Publisher: Sega

The rightly-renamed Yakuza series has its next main entry coming out very soon - Infinite Wealth, which will see its minigame and story-filled fun expand to all-new locations.

That's right - for the first time we're going to Hawaii and exploring a whole new resort, doubtless full of side quests, memorable characters and kooky activities.

Persona 3 Reload

  • Pre-order: Amazon
  • Release date: 2 February 2024
  • Xbox One exclusive? No, also on Xbox, PlayStation 5 and PC
  • Publisher: Atlus

Persona 3 is many people's favourite Persona game, even after the rampant success of Persona 4 and 5, so the news that it's getting a glossy remake has been hugely welcome for many players.

It's got a completely unique style and a wonderful blue-tinged aesthetic, but having been a bit harder and more niche originally, it should get a load of new players for the first time when it comes out.

Hollow Knight: Silksong

  • Release date: TBC
  • Xbox One exclusive? No, also on Xbox, Switch and PC
  • Publisher: Team Cherry

We don't actually have final confirmation that Silksong will hit the PS4, but it's widely assumed that it will - and we know so little about the game more widely that anything is possible at this stage.

We've been waiting literally years and years for the follow-up to Hollow Knight, one of our favourite ever platformers, and from the brief trailers we've seen so far it looks like Silksong will be worth every minute. It has new mechanics and characters to meet, all in that charming subterranean world of bugs.

Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree
Bandai Namco

Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree

  • Release date: TBC
  • Xbox One exclusive? No, also on Xbox, PlayStation 5 and PC
  • Publisher: Bandai Namco

All we know about the major DLC planned for Elden Ring is its title and that teaser image that we've embedded above - FromSoftware has been tight-lipped about any other details so far.

So, all we can do is hope for new areas that are as sizeable as the regions in the main game, along with new weapons and Arts of War to experiment with. What's almost guaranteed is that we'll be destroyed by devious new bosses with evil attack patterns that take some learning.

FC 24 review 1
EA Sports

EA Sports FC 25

  • Release date: Late 2024
  • Xbox One exclusive? No, also on Xbox, PlayStation 5, Switch and PC
  • Publisher: EA

EA changed the name of its game this year when it released EA Sports FC 24, the first non-FIFA title it's had in literally years, and it doesn't seem to have dented its sales success much at all.

Just like Call of Duty, you can pretty much bet your life that there will be a new FC game in late 2024, though, to bring the new season to life on-screen and offer some minor gameplay changes - we might have to wait a while to find out much more about it, though.
