Philips - having skipped out on the TV launch-fest of CES 2019 - has announced that it will be launching two new OLED models in the first half of 2019.

Building on the success of its 2018 models - the OLED+ 903 and the OLED 803 - the two new models announced by Philips are the OLED 804 and the OLED 854. The only difference between these two models in the stand - with the 804 sitting on feet, while the 854 has a central stand offering swivel.

These will be 4K HDR TVs, they will support Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos and they will be powered by the third-generation P5 Perfect Picture Engine, boosting the power to step-up the award-winning performance of the 2018 models.

When it comes to HDR support, Philips in joining Panasonic in offering both Dolby Vision and HDR 10+, so it supports the latest technologies to get the most out of the performance. Support for Dolby Vision is new for 2019. Philips has confirmed that they have a 1000 nit peak brightness.

The new models offer the latest version of Android TV, feature Google Assistant, with a button on the remote to give you voice control of the TV and will also work with Alexa.

Three-sided Ambilight is present, as expected, giving a point of differentiation from other OLED TVs currently on the market from rivals.

There's currently no word on pricing, but these TVs will be available in the first half of 2019.
