Amazon's Prime Big Deal Days event is over. After two days of great deals and discounts, the majority of offers are now no longer available. However, you can still snap up some real bargains on home security tech, including the popular Ring range of smart video doorbells and security cameras, as some of the bundles remain at the discounted prices that we saw during the Prime Day event. With many of the individual products returning to their original prices, some of the bundles below are absolute steals, as many are priced at the same price or lower than the cost of the one of the bundled items alone.

It's no real surprise to see some great discounts on Ring products, with the company being owned by Amazon. There's no indication of how long these deals are going to last, so if you want to take advantage of them, it's best to jump in sooner rather than later.

Ring Video Doorbell (2nd Generation)

Ring's entry-level battery-powered doorbell, the second-generation Ring Video Doorbell, is packed with features. You get real-time notifications when someone rings your doorbell or if motion is detected, and you can even get alerts when a package is left in front of your door. You can also use two-way talk to speak to people at the door or stream the video feed from your doorbell to a compatible Echo device such as an Echo Show 5 - which you can get as part of a Ring Video Doorbell bundle.

Since the device is battery-powered, it's simple to install, but you'll need to take the entire doorbell down to charge the battery every couple of months.

Ring Battery Doorbell Plus

The Ring Battery Doorbell Plus is another battery-powered Ring video doorbell that adds head-to-toe video thanks to a vertical and horizontal 150-degree field of vision.

This helps you to see even the tallest visitors in their entirety and also allows you to see the floor near your door, which is ideal for package detection. It also improves video quality with a super sharp 1536p video, complete with colour night vision.

Keeping it charged is easy, thanks to removable batteries. With a spare battery, you can always have one charged and ready so that your video doorbell doesn't have any downtime.

This bundle is currently $219.99, saving you $80.

Ring Video Doorbell Wired

This is Ring's most affordable doorbell, requiring hardwiring into an existing doorbell's wiring. If you're not confident, we'd recommend getting an electrician to help for peace of mind.

Once connected, you get all of Ring's core functions - Live View, 1080p HD Video and Two-Way Talk, as well as motion detection notifications to your phone.

Because it's wired in, you don't need to replace the batteries, so while it might require some initial work to begin with, once installed, you can simply leave it to go without worrying about charge. Couple it with Amazon's most affordable smart speaker, the Echo Pop, for a low-cost video doorbell system.

Ring Video Doorbell Pro 2

If you've got a wired doorbell, the Ring Video Doorbell Pro 2 offers a great alternative to the Battery Doorbell Plus. It has many of the same features, including 1536p HD+ head-to-toe video, but you don't need to worry about recharging or swapping out the battery. It also looks a little sleeker when mounted on your wall.

An excellent feature of the Ring Video Doorbell Pro 2 is 3D Motion Detection, which doesn't just detect motion and the distance that the motion occurs. You can set alerts to be made only when someone is a specified distance away, so you won't get constant motion notifications when someone walks down the path opposite your home. There's also a Bird's Eye View feature that lets you see an aerial view of the path that someone has taken.

You get all the other features you'd expect from Ring, including Two-Way Talk with your Echo smart speaker, video storage for 180 days with a Ring Protect subscription and package alerts. You can install it yourself with the app and a little bit of DIY know-how, but for absolute peace of mind, a professional will get it up and running in no time.

This bundle is an absolute no-brainer, as it's the same price as the Ring Video Doorbell Pro 2 alone, so in effect, you're getting a Ring Floodlight Cam (Wired) completely free.

What should you consider when buying Ring smart security products?

Ring is best known for its smart video doorbells, but it offers a whole range of home security products, including security cameras and even full home alarm systems. Everything works through the Ring app, and many of the products offer similar features, such as HD video, motion detection and two-way talk.

When deciding which device to buy, Ring offers a choice of wired or battery-powered devices. The former are usually cheaper but can require professional help to install. However, once they're in, they're in, so there's no need to remember to charge the battery.

If you live in a rental property, you may not be able to drill holes or mess with existing wiring, so that the battery-powered range may suit you much better. It also gives you more scope when deciding where to place your devices.

Some features aren't included on all devices, so check what's included with each device. Things like head-to-toe video are only available on products like the Ring Video Doorbell Pro 2 and the Ring Battery Doorbell Plus. However, the more features and functionality you want, the more you'll pay for the device, so keep your budget in mind.

You'll need to factor in a Ring Protect subscription as part of your budget. This opens up access to features like Package Detection and event recording, plus cloud storage of the video of those events for 180 days. Prices start from $3.49 / £3.99 a month for a single device, but you'll pay more to cover multiple devices.

How did we choose the best Ring deals?

We have tested so many of Ring's products that we know the range inside out, and so we know which products are worth recommending. In all honesty, most of Ring's products are fantastic, so even when we haven't had hands-on experience, it makes most of the range easy to recommend as a result.

We've therefore considered all the current deals offered by Amazon, the size of the discount offered, and the product(s) included. We've included it if it seems like a good deal compared to the prices you would usually expect to pay.

When was Prime Big Deal Days 2023?

Prime Big Deal Days 2023 ran over October 10 and 11, 2023. Although the Prime Big Deal Days event is over, some big discounts are still hanging around. The deals above were some of the best we could still find.

Do you have to be a Prime member?

All the discounts during Prime Day are for Amazon Prime members only, but now that the event is over, you can take advantage of these deals even if you're not an Amazon Prime subscriber. If you want to try Prime, you can sign up for a 30-day free trial; if you don't want to continue afterwards, you can cancel before the first payment is taken.

You will be missing out on some great extra benefits though, such as free next-day delivery, Prime Video membership and much more.
