Disney has announced new Star Wars movies and shows, new Marvel movies and shows, new Pixar movies and shows, as well as Disney+ Originals - all during its four-hour-long Investor Day event.

Here's how to watch the event, plus all the key announcements.

How to watch Disney's Investor Day

On 10 December 2020, Disney streamed its Investor Day event, which anyone can watch. The show focused mainly on the company’s streaming services, which include Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+. It, of course, also had several project announcements from its franchises, including Marvel, Star Wars, and Pixar. You can watch Disney's Investor Day from the link above.

The event began at 4:30pm EST/1:30pm PST and lasted four hours.

Disney Investor Day: All the key announcements

With this event, we got a clearer idea of Disney’s plan to adjust to the post-pandemic, plus whether it plans to release films originally intended for theaters on Disney+. Disney said its streaming service will be getting a ton of new content, including “roughly” 10 Star Wars series, 10 Marvel series, and 15 Disney live-action, Disney Animation, and Pixar series.

Fifteen Disney live-action, Disney Animation, and Pixar feature films are also coming to Disney+. In fact, Disney said we can expect hundreds more live-action and animated titles - from across its brands and franchises - to come to the service over the next few years. At the moment, it's set a schedule of over 100 new movies and shows to premiere on the service every year.

We already knew details on some of these projects, but Disney announced more information and has previewed teaser trailers.

Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy also announced the third season of The Mandalorian will debut in December 2021.

Star Wars: Andor

Disney detailed one more new Disney+ show called Star Wars: Andor. Starring Diego Luna as Cassian Andor from Rogue One, it will launch in 2022. Although production began two weeks ago in London, a brief trailer was shown, which you can see below. Tony Gilroy will serve as the showrunner, and Diego Luna will reprise his role as Andor from Rogue One and serve as a producer.

The biggest of the productions is a Disney+ series called Obi-Wan Kenobi. Ewan McGregor is reprising his role as the titular character, while Hayden Christensen will return as Darth Vader. Star Wars: Rogue Squadron

Disney said the next Star Wars feature film is coming, and it'll be directed by Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins. It's centered around the story of Rogue Squadron, a famous squad of X-Wing fighter pilots made famous in the old Star Wars canon.

It'll be released around Christmas 2023.

Unnamed Taiki Waititi film

One of the hottest directors on the planet right now, Taiki Waititi, is hard at work on a new Star Wars film set in the uncharted future of the Star Wars Universe. Disney revealed it will premiere after Star Wars: Rogue Squadron

Hulu comes to Europe in the form of Star

Disney+ plans to integrate Star into the streaming service - but outside the US.

This will see the addition of adult-oriented content, such as shows like Family Guy and films like Kingsman: The Golden Circle. Star will only be available for subscribers outside the US because Disney currently uses Hulu to deliver most of this content in the US. Disney also announced expanded parental controls to ensure the streaming service stays appropriate for all ages.

The addition of Star will see the price of Disney+ rise to €8.99 in Europe, from 23 February 2021 in continental Europe. The new pricing will come to Latin America, Japan, and Korea later in 2021.

Ad-free Hulu, Disney+, and ESPN+ bundle

Disney has announced a new bundle in the US for its streaming services. It consists of Disney+, ad-free Hulu, and ESPN+ for $18.99. That's a six-dollar increase over the company’s existing $12.99 streaming bundle that includes Hulu with ads. But the price increase is the difference between the standalone version of Hulu’s service with ads and the ad-free version.

When bought separately, Disney+ is $6.99 per month, ESPN+ is $5.99 per month), and Hulu without ads is $11.99 per month.

The new bundle should launch in January 2021.
