EA host a major online games showcase on Thursday 22 July 2021.

Called EA Play Live, it showed a new mode in Battlefield 2042, gameplay for Lost in Random, new Apex Legends and Knockout City content, plus the debut of Grid Legends and the eagerly anticipated Dead Space remake.

What was announced?

EA trailed several key games during its EA Play Live 2021 event. Here are the highlights...

Dead Space

As heavily rumoured beforehand, EA is remaking its classic sci-fi survival horror, Dead Space, for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC. It is being rebuilt from the ground up in the latest version of the Frostbite Engine.

Battlefield Portal

Battlefield Portal is a giant sandbox for players to create their own multiplayer Battlefield gameplay experiences, using elements from the forthcoming Battlefield 2042, plus previous games like Battlefield Bad Company 2.

Lost in Random

Looking like a Tim Burton animated movie, action-adventure Lost in Random finally has a release date: 10 September 2021.

Grid Legends

Fresh from delivering a superb F1 outing with a story mode, Codemasters will be adding a similar narrative to its next big Grid racing release.

Knockout City Season 2

Madcap sports skirmish-em-up, Knockout City, soon enters its second season with arenas inspired by Hollywood movies.

Apex Legends: Emergence

And last, but not least, the new Apex Legends update was announced. Emergence will launch on 3 August 2021.
