Volvo has teased a Concept Coupe that it will reveal for real during the Frankfurt Motor Show next month.

It is the first to have been designed for the Swedish car company by its new design director and the firm states that it will be part of a trio of concept cars, each of which embodies the new direction Volvo is heading in.

Thomas Ingenlath, senior VP of design, said that when people see this car they will also see that the new Volvo "will stand out as the calm, confident and naturally powerful challenger".

It is a two-seater sports car with innovative touchscreen technology on the inside and a glass roof. A 9.7-inch screen takes pride of place in the dash, and the new Volvo logo and face adorns the grille at the front.

Pocket-lint will have more on the Concept Coupe from Frankfurt itself, but until then the company has released a stack of pictures and a video to keep you happy.
