Sony has launched two new digital cameras at the consumer electronics show in Las Vegas this year - the T33 and Cybershot 200.


The T33 offers 5.1 mega pixels, 3x optical Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar zoom lens and a 2.5in LCD display on the rear all in a package the size of a pack of cards.

The camera also offers a 12x smart zoom and 6x precision digital zoom facility. It is also capable of a 1cm Macro mode. Sony are promising 180 shots from a single charge, pictbridge compatibility and a Shutter Time Lag time of 0.23 sec.

The T33 will be available at the end of the month. The estimated price is likely to be around £350

The Cyber-shot P200 will offer 7.2 mega pixels Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar zoom
lens and 2.0-inch LCD. It to has a 3X optical zoom lens and like the T33 has a 14x Smart Zoom, 6x Precision Digital Zoom. Furthermore it can shoot up to 370 images on one charge of the InfoLithium battery.

The Cyber-shot P200 will be available in February 2005. The estimated price is likely to be around £300.
