Sony has unveiled a trio of compact cameras that utilise proprietary Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T lenses with 30 times optical zoom.
The Sony Cyber-shot HX90, HX90V and DSC-WX500 cameras will all be available from early summer and offer 18.2-megapixel Exmore R CMOS image sensors as well as the same lens.
The Zeiss lens promises sharp, low-distortion images, even at high zoom settings. And a digital Clear Image Zoom mode on the cameras boosts the magnification to 60 times. There is Optical SteadyShot and five-axis image stabilisation on board too to further keep images and Full HD video sharp.
Other features all three cameras sport include Bionz X image processors and maximum apertures of f/3.5 (W) and f/6.4 (T). They are all capable of 1080p (50/60) video recording and tiltable 3-inch TFT LCD monitors.
However, the HX90 and HX90V models add OLED electronic viewfinders. And the latter of those two also comes with GPS.
All three cameras have Wi-Fi and NFC connectivity.
The Cyber-shot HX90 and HX90V models will come in black only, while the Cyber-shot DSC-WX500 will be available in black, red and white.
