Samsung Electronics has announced the SMX-C14 and SMX-C10 in the US, describing them as two new ergonomically designed, compact digital camcorders.

Due to launch in July, the camcorders offer a 10x optical zoom along "Hyper Image Stabilization", a swiveling 2.7-inch wide LCD screen, and Samsung's "Active Angle Lens" that claims to allow for a more relaxed grip for reduced wrist and elbow stress.

The SMX-C14 gets 16GB of internal flash memory, expandable via SD card while recording in H.264 leads to a claim of 6 hours of footage on the built-in storage, whilst battery life comes in at 2 hours and 40 minutes of record time on a single charge from USB or the mains.

Complete with software and one-touch YouTube uploads, the SMX-C14 and SMX-C10 get Samsung's "Touch of Color" design language, while special features include time-lapse recording and animated thumbnails.

Here in the UK, we're apparently due to get the SMX-C10 - but not the C14 - so we'll bring you more on a local launch when we have it.
