Samsung has announced a more-affordable variant of its Galaxy Camera. The Wi-Fi-only version features all the same functionality and tech as the conventional camera, just without the 3G capabilities.

This means you get a 16-megapixel sensor, 21x optical zoom and a 1.4 GHz quad-core processor with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean running on the camera.

We were impressed with the Galaxy Camera when we tested it, but it isn't without its fault - one of which is the rather high price tag. This version is said to cheaper, but by how much we don't know, with pricing and availability still to be announced by Samsung.

If you are desperate for a Galaxy Camera, the conventional 3G version is available on Amazon now for £339. For that price though, you could grab yourself a top of the line smartphone from last year, most of which will match the Galaxy Camera pretty closely in terms of image quality - and you get a phone as well.

We will update the moment we get pricing and availability from Samsung.
