Panasonic has announced two new additions to its range of network cameras that allow you to view real time images over the internet.
This means you can keep an eye on your home or office from any location, including from your mobile phone.
The BL-C160 and BL-C140 are outdoor ready thanks to a splash-resistant body, expanding their use to places such as garages, and a Colour Night View Mode, enabled automatically as the light fades and allowing clear images even in the dark.
The BL-C160 and C140 are fixed lens cameras with 10x digital zoom and a viewing angle of 58 degrees horizontal and 45 degrees vertical.
The BL-C160 does have a few differences over its sibling, including a double sensor that picks up human detection as well as motion detection.
While the motion detection function, available on both models, captures images only when motion is detected, the built in human detection sensor is triggered by changes in temperature, picked up by infrared light.
The BL-C160 also features an LED light that can come on when the either of these things are detected.
Both cameras send both MPEG4 videos and JPEG images, depending on your needs, and support Universal Plug and Play. They can also be powered via LAN cable power supply meaning you can install it even where there is no plug.
The BL-C160 and C140 are available now, around the £300 and £200 mark respectively.
