Following on from the launch of the Lumix DMC-G1, Panasonic has announced two new Micro Four Thirds system zoom lenses.
The Lumix G VARIO 14-45mm f/3.5-5.6 ASPH MEGA O.I.S. and Lumix G VARIO 45-200mm f/4.0-5.6 MEGA O.I.S produce an equivalent field of view of 28-90mm and 90-400mm respectively.
The 14-45mm lens is claimed to suitable for a wide range of shots from portrait to landscape photography.
It is ultra-compact and light weight, but also incorporates Panasonic’s Mega O.I.S. optical image stabiliser.
The lens offers a minimum focus distance of 30cm, maximum photographic magnification of 0.34x (35mm equivalent).
Also worth a mention are the seven aperture blades and the multi-coated lens elements that are designed to reduce ghosts and flare to an absolute minimum.
The 45-200mm optic is a telephoto zoom again compatible with Micro Four Thirds System standard.
It is claimed to deliver minimum aberration at all focal lengths.
And this lens also incorporates Panasonic’s Mega O.I.S. optical image stabiliser.
