The E-620 digital SLR, based on the four thirds standard and apparently the smallest DSLR with built in image stabilisation. We were at Focus On Imaging to grab a hand on with the new camera.

Aimed at enthusiasts who want the size benefit of the E4xx series but with "key benefits" such as an enhanced focus system plus new developments like "Art Filters" and multiple exposures, the E-620 is a 12.3-megapixel offering.

With auto focus live view, the new DSLR offers a "free angle" swing out 2.7-inch full colour HyperCrystal III LCD.

The Art Filters will allow you to take pictures and then have effects added in camera without the need for a PC. Effects include settings like pinhole, black and white film grain and popart.

Olympus didn't have a confirmed UK price, however our man on the inside suggested that UK customers could expect to pay around £600 - £700. It will cost 800 Euro in Euroland.

UPDATE 11:14 GMT: Olympus has officially confirmed to us that the price of the E-620 will be £649.99.
