Nikon has announced the Coolpix P90, a new bridge camera that's described as having "powerful features" in a "compact and portable" body, and here at Pocket-lint we've bagged one for a hands-on photo gallery.

Boasting a 24x wide angle, yes those yellow dots in one of the pictures is a daffodil, the optical zoom that offers the 35mm-equivalent of a 26mm wide-angle to a 624mm telephoto range, the P90 is capable of shooting pictures as close as 1cm and of high-speed continuous shooting of up to 45 shots at 15fps.

Users will also be able to capture video on the P90, as well as ensure everyone is looking their best thanks to the "Quick Retouch" and "Blink Warning" capabilities.

The P90 will be available in black from 13 March, with an RRP of £379.99 however we can't help thinking that it looks very similar to the Pentax X70 just released at PMA.
