While good old Pocket-lint was down at getting a closer look at the Nikon D7000 DSLR, we also caught site of the recently announced Nikon Coolpix S80 from the compact range. It's rather pretty.

The S80 is essentially point-and-shoot device, but with some quite hardcore kit on board. It has 14.1-megapixel sensor and it'll encode 720p HD video at 30fps as well. It has a 5x optical zoom, which it's even possible to use while mid-vid, plus there's also an HMDI-out option for watching back your footage on your big screen TV.

Round the back is where it gets a bit special though with a 3.5-inch OLED multitouch touchscreen and 819K dots high resolution to go with it. There are five anti-blur functions built as well as all kinds of scene modes and art filters as well. It's out on 7 October, in black or red, with a suggested retail price of £329.99.
