Nikon have released a new firmware update for the D3 DSLR camera.
Version 2.01 adds a number of notable changes, as well as a number of smaller ones as well.
Firstly, Geodetic information is now displayed in ViewNX and Capture NX for images captured with the GPS Unit GP-1 mounted on the camera.
Other improvements include an improved autofocus-response performance in Continuous-serve AF mode, and the ability to select a focus point using the multi selector when the AF-ON button is pressed.
That's not all folks. Under-exposure of images captured with two lenses (AF-S VR Micro-Nikkor 105mm f/2.8G IF-ED and AF VR Zoom-Nikkor 80-400mm f/4.5-5.6D ED) has been rectified, the black dots previously noticeable in images captured with Long exp. NR on no longer appear and distance information displayed on the SB-800 no longer changes when the camera is turned on or has its exposure meters reactivated.
The smaller changes include the correct spelling on Manama in the World time menu in setup, and a few photo information wording changes in full-frame playback.
