Kodak gallery customers in the US will now be able to collect prints ordered on the company's online gallery printing service from CVS/Pharmacy on the same day.

The move will mean that the Kodak Gallery's 60 million users will be able to collect their photos from any one of 5300 participating CVS/pharmacy locations nationwide rather than wait for them in the mail.

At checkout, customers can choose "same day service" and then find the closest CVS/pharmacy location in their area for pickup. Alternatively, customers have the option of having their print orders shipped to the store for standard pick up service if quick turn-around is not required.

According to the Photo Marketing Association in America, digital print orders placed online and picked up at retail are continuing to account for a growing percentage of the market.

In the 12 months ending January 2007, 9.3% of all digital print orders were placed online and picked up at retail - an increase of 4.5% or nearly double from a year ago. The number of digital print orders placed online and received by mail increased by just over 2% to 11.5% in the same time period.
