If you're after a compact camera, perhaps that sort of thing to match your yacht moored in Portofino and don't know where to look, then we might be able to help.

You could turn your eyes to Leica, knowing you'll be getting a lovely re-badged Panasonic, or you could look to Hasselblad.

You might just pick one of the best high-end compact cameras around - the Sony RX100 - but why would you when you could opt for the Hasselblad Stellar and ensure you have something that's a little more unique?

This is the second camera to come from Hasselblad's tie-up with Sony, the first being an NEX-7 remodelling in the Hasselblad Lunar. With this latest model, the Stellar, you get a Hasselblad that's pocketable.

We stumbled upon the Hasselblad Stellar at a showcase for John Lewis, which will be selling this premium compact camera. Hasselblad says it will cost you €1480 (£1248), we'll update with the UK price once we have it.

Turning to the technical specifications, the Hasselblad Stellar features a 28-100mm lens Zeiss lens, offering a f/1.8 max aperture, sitting in front of a 20-megapixel 1-inch sensor. 

The controls reflect those of the Sony camera this is derived from, with the same layout of buttons and dials. The obvious change is the addition of a dramatic wooden handgrip, which does feel really nice once you grip it. 

There's a choice of seven finishes available: padouk, olive, zebra, mahogany, walnut, and wenge from the wood collection, or carbonfibre if you want it to match the interior of your Ferrari. 

We didn't have much time with the Hasselblad, but it looks to be the same as the £519 Sony RX100. Of course, if you're looking for a little more of the same camera for your money, then the updated Sony RX100 II at £649 might be a better option.
