Fujifilm is targeting female consumers with its latest Z-series compact, hoping that candy colours will appeal to women.

The 5.1MP FinePix Z3 Zoom comes in silver, metallic blue, and light pink, and features a 3x non-extending optical zoom.

The company has combined its Super CCD sensor with its Real Photo Technology Processor II so that the Z3's ISO range extends from 64-1600, whereas previous models have only reached ISO 400.

Fujifilm says that because studies show that the majority of pictures taken by women are people pictures taken in low-light situations, it has decided to include ISO 1600 on the new camera.

An Anti-Blur button ensure that the Z3 operates with a faster shutter than other cameras for quick shots in low-light situations. In addition, the Intelligent Flash system, which may be another name for first- or second-curtain sync flash, ensures a well-exposed background with natural skin tones on subjects in the foregrounds.

Dual-Shooting Mode, one of 14 shooting modes, allows users to take two consecutive shots, one with flash and one without, so that they can choose between the two later.

Other features include 10MB of internal memory, and VGA movie recording at 30fps with sound.
